UMAREX PAC 1400 Portable Battery Operated PCP Air Compressor

The PAC 1400 is the “grown-up” version of Umarex’s portable compressor range. It bridges the gap between mobile convenience and workshop capability, offering both mains and dual battery operation so you can use it at home or out in the field without changing setup.

It’s built for users who need more than just top-ups, but still want flexibility without committing to a fixed installation.

Key Features

• Dual power system: 230V mains or 2x 18V Li-ion batteries
• High output 14 L/min (FAD) inflation rate
• Maximum pressure up to 300 BAR
• Oil-free and water-free operation
• Auto shut-off with 1 BAR precision adjustment
• Integrated overheat protection system
• Replaceable filter sponge for maintenance
• Foster quick disconnect fill system
• Includes 2 batteries and 2 chargers
• Compatible with multiple third-party battery platforms (via adapters)

Performance / Use Case

This is designed for users who want proper filling capability without being locked to a fixed compressor setup.

With a 14 L/min flow rate, it moves into a much faster class than smaller portable units, making it capable of filling larger cylinders up to 3 litres. It’s suitable for both full fills and maintenance work, which is where it separates itself from lighter “top-up only” compressors.

The dual power option is the real strength here. Mains for workshop use, batteries for field or remote work, without needing two separate systems.

Build & Design

At 9.3kg, this is still technically portable, but it’s firmly in the “carry when needed, not casually” category. The design is compact relative to its output, with a sturdy housing built around the motor and cooling system.

Controls are handled through a clear digital interface, allowing precise pressure setting and monitoring. Safety systems include automatic shut-off and thermal protection, both of which are essential at this output level.

Noise sits at around 72 dB, which is moderate for its performance class and noticeably quieter than many high-output compressors.

The PAC 1400 is the most capable of the portable PAC range, and it shows in both output and flexibility. It’s not just a field top-up tool, and it’s not quite a fixed workshop unit either, it sits neatly between the two.
